Providing a general introduction to the Agricultural industry, this course will enable you to select a livestock production or cropping job focus or, in the case of mixed farming enterprises, both cropping and livestock.
You’ll learn a wide range of basic farming skills including safe work practices, handling and care of livestock, using farm machinery and equipment and how to establish, maintain and harvest crops.
You’ll also learn how to work effectively in the industry by participating in environmentally sustainable work practices and work, health and safety processes.
There will also be plenty of opportunities for you to participate in hands-on industry project work and go on industry excursions so that you can gain a broader understanding of the agriculture sector and future employment opportunities.
