Career highlights

Make a difference

Agricultural researchers use expert knowledge and problem-solving to tackle real-world challenges. From developing crops for changing climates, to precision technology that improves sustainability, efficiency and productivity for farms, agricultural researchers put expert science and technology knoweldge into action.

Exciting & diverse

From laboratories to field sites, the microscopic to whole ecosystems, agricultural science researchers work across diverse sciences and locations. You'll design experiments, collect data in the field and the laboratory, share what you find and collaborate. Research takes you into trial fieldsites, greenhouses laboratories, commercial industry, conferences and into communities.

What the job involves

Agricultural researchers plan and conduct cutting-edge laboratory experiments and field trials, collect and analyse data, communicate results and make recommendations to help shape industry practices and policy.
